We Are Luton Team welcome Petey Staniforth
We welcome to We Are Luton Town Football Club, as a regular columnist and writer, one of our more ‘famous’ fans. Petey Staniforth, is a professional wrestling promoter, and works as talent relations/booker at CAWS (Charity Appeal Wrestling Shows), and formerly Power Trip Wrestling. He also performs as a professional wrestler. Petey was a professional wrestling journalist, something he still does on occasion, and at one point was writing for thirty websites, and for mainstream magazines. Those interested in his current project, can visit www.cawswrestling.com for more details.
In regards to Luton Town FC, Petey has been a fan of the club for 31 years plus, has his own column in Luton Town FC’s “Half Time Orange” fanzine entitled ‘From The Kenny End’ (which has now completed it’s 3rd season), has written for Luton Town’s Supporters Club newsletter, has been both featured in and written for the LTFC matchday programme, and has done writing work for www.lutontownfans.co.uk, and also www.lutonfc.com as well.
In reference to his higher profile, Petey has been featured on Sky Digital, and BBC2. He has been interviewed on talkSPORT radio (live), BBC 3 Counties Radio (on numerous occasions in 2011), BBC Radio Northampton, Heart FM Home Counties (on numerous occasions), Manchester’s 106.1 FM, and also Corby Radio, both live, and pretaped. Petey has also been featured in The Sun, and The Metro newspapers; and all forms of Bedfordshire’s newspapers over the last five plus years, including the Luton News, Luton on Sunday, and interviewed exclusively in Luton’s Herald and Post (August 2010).
Petey is a very easy Hatter to find on home match days. He sits front row in the Kenilworth Road end, behind the goal; with his two children, Drewy and Victoria. and can often be spotted as the guy that ‘Happy Harry’ gives a lucky hug to before most games! This is a very passionate Luton fan, who will always, and quite literally, tell it how he sees it, with his heart worn very much on his sleeve.
