“Keeping The Faith (….Yet Again)”
Well, here we are at that odd limbo stage again. It’s not the end of the season anymore, but it also isnt quite the start of the season either. And theres a lot going on, as ever, at Luton Town FC, to keep us occupied, and speculating.
We’ve seen, in the last couple of weeks, a lot of players leaving the club. But, the way I see it, with no disrespect to any of them, whilst I could write about them and speak well of them, and rightfully so; we have to look at it now, that they are now the past, and this is a new future and team being built.
With that in mind, recent days have seen Ronnie Henry, and Danny Spiller, joining the club. These are players that are joining us from playing at a higher level recently, and it is unlikely they are making that drop down to Blue Square football with anything other in mind than getting back into the league as soon as possible.
I will confess to a concern that there is too much back and forth at the club right now, and there will be a bedding in process that the fans will have to be patient with, in regards to the players getting to know each other, and working well with each other; but overall, the changes are needed, and it’s better to get this over with as soon as possible so that we can get on with achieving the most important part of this entire situation – automatic promotion.
So here we are, keeping the faith (yet again), and believing that we will finally get what is justified, our place back in the Football League. Because one thing I do know, that’s now two seasons in a row, that I’ve had to hold my son whilst he cried in my arms, after a defeat in the play off final. And I really don’t want to ever go through that again any time soon……so let’s get on the same page, players and fans and the club, and let’s do this!
